Plucked from a line-up which stretched half a mile when auditions were held in January, newcomer Harry Kirton has been cast to play Finn Shelby in the second series of acclaimed BBC drama Peaky Blinders.

The Brummie born 15 year old will now begin his acting career starring alongside Helen McCrory and Cillian Murphy, as well as latest cast addition Tom Hardy, in the period drama which tells the story of sparring gangs in 1920s Birmingham. Playing the youngest of the Shelby brothers, Kirton will be seen on TV screens when the programme returns to BBC2 in autumn 2014.
